about

This song is written about real life scenario which I encountered whereby a grandmother was rearing her grandson due to his mother's life being damaged by addiction and an abusive relationship. The song is a conversation between mother and daughter.

lyrics

It's not the same when hands are tied behind my back not a fair fight
He'll be gone from 3 til 10 give us time to plan revenge
Lets sort it out, get on the run, don't leave a note, nobody has to know
The locks need changing, we don't have time, its almost 3 again we should hide, cos

They won't see us coming
They won't see us coming
Out of the dark we'll come running
Out of the dark we'll come running

We can't sleep, can't call this home, fill gaps of a no fly zone
We should head, the light is out, traffic stuck headed south
Did no one see it? No witness here, No coverage needed message clear
The clocks need changing, an hour fast , leave all baggage in the past, cos.

They won't see us coming
They won't see us coming
Out of the dark we'll come running
Out of the dark we'll come running
